Roland Park K-8 Magnet School for International Studies opened in August 2011 with an International Studies focus. In August 2014, Roland Park was granted IB World School status. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is for grades K-5 and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for grades 6-8.
In concert with other world schools, students are introduced to content using unified themes that integrate the curriculum. Students will develop a broad-based knowledge of global issues and become critical thinkers.
School officially starts at 8:30am and is dismissed at 3:25 (Tuesday-Friday) and at 2:25pm (Monday). Students are permitted to arrive on campus at 8:00am. Many students choose to have free breakfast in the cafeteria at that time. Students are permitted to enter their classrooms at 8:10am. Roland Park K-8 Magnet School is a cooperative venture between the businesses of the Westshore Alliance and Hillsborough County Public Schools. Members of the Westshore Alliance may apply for their child(ren) to attend this prestigious program that is in close proximity to where they work.
