Cell Phone Policy
HCPS Cell Phone Policy:
Cell phones, wireless communication devices (watches, tablets), and other electronic devices are to be used for educational purposes under the supervision of district staff.
Students must comply with school/district staff directives regarding when and where electronic devices can be used.
Using electronic devices on school property and school-sponsored transportation to record, photograph, transmit, or post images or videos of any student or staff without their permission is strictly prohibited.
Electronic devices that can record or photograph are prohibited in restrooms and locker rooms.
Devices may only be used in approved areas, and students must comply with the directives of school/district staff regarding when and where electronic devices may be used. Cellular phone device conversations and video recording during the school day are prohibited unless under the supervision of the staff/school personnel.
Student cell phones must be off throughout the school day and kept in the student's book bag.
Please call the front office if you need to speak with your child or relay a message to them. Please refrain from messaging your child during the day on any device.
Electronic Device Violation:
Students who choose to use their electronic devices will have their devices confiscated.
1st violation: Confiscate device. The offense will be documented, and the student will receive their device at the end of the day.
2nd violation: Confiscate the device; the offense will be documented, and the parent will need to pick up the device. No exceptions.
3rd violation: Confiscate the device; the offense will be documented, and the parent will be notified to pick up the device. No exceptions. Students will also receive 1-2 days of lunch detention/work detail for willful disobedience. The parent will be required to meet with the administration.
4th violation: Confiscate the device; the offense will be documented, and the parent will be notified to pick up the device. There are no exceptions. Students who willfully disobey will receive 1-2 days ISS.
